Black History Month

A little late to the party, but we wanted to share that October is Black History Month and there are some events being held over the next couple of weeks.

Visit Black History Month’s ‘PROUD TO BE‘ Exhibition at The CHAT Room, 12 Orchard Place, BS23 1QP.

“This exhibition showcases black talent and achievement from all walks of life. Really inspirational, regardless of one’s colour or background.”

“A really useful opportunity to highlight some incredible people.”

“Seeing so many faces – some well known, many new – reminds one of just how much black people have positively contributed to the UK and global society.”

Open this week:

  • Thursday 21st, 1.00pm-7.00pm
  • Friday 22nd, 1.00pm-7.00pm
  • Saturday 23rd, 10.00am-4.00pm

Open next week:

  • Thursday 28th, 1.00pm-7.00pm
  • Friday 29th, 1.00pm-7.00pm
  • Saturday 30th, 10.00am-4.00pm

All welcome.

They have window stickers for shops in town, and are also hoping businesses might show their support for the campaign by adding a sticker or banner and message of support to their social media and/or website.

If a business would like a sticker, you can email them at info@blackhistorymonth-ns.org.uk/

All of the information can be found if you visit their website here.
