We thought it would be nice to introduce our committee members over the coming weeks, and thought it best to start with our recent change as John Coombe has finally retired as our Treasurer.
John Coombe has lived in Weston-super-Mare for over 30 years. He has been Treasurer almost as long! Now retired, he was formerly Branch Manager and Commercial Manager with HSBC Bank. He is a Cornishman and avid Plymouth Argyle supporter and has had an active role within the Chamber for as long as he’s lived in Weston.
Anne Stevens, who is already a member of the committee, has agreed to stand as Treasurer.
Anne, a Business and Management graduate, has worked at various levels of corporate retail management across several sectors for over 15 years. Moving out of corporate work in 2017, Anne now co runs/owns a local Electrical Contractor company. The transition from large businesses to the SME world really opened Anne's eyes to the different challenges they faced. Wanting to use her experience to help others, Anne joined the executive committee. When not at work, you'll find Anne socialising (always involving food), travelling or planning to travel!
The Chamber are extremely grateful for John’s voluntary support over the years and the Committee gave heartfelt thanks to John for his dedication as Treasurer for 34 years.
All our Committee members are volunteers and would welcome support. If you can help the Chamber in any voluntary capacity, we’d love to hear from you.
