Events We regularly organise events for our members, with some open to non-members who may be thinking of joining. We also hold joint meetings with other local organisations, providing additional networking opportunities, advice, and support.

Plastic-free community Approved Plastic-free community

Back in October 2017 our Chamber, together with the Weston Mercury, launched a Surfers Against Sewage campaign for Weston to become an approved Plastic-free community.  Our Cleaner Coastlines campaign meant working with local government, businesses, schools, colleges and youth, church and community groups to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic in our town.

We were very proud to receive the accreditation in August 2018 with 50+ businesses heroes in the area signing up.  Our campaign continues to bring more businesses and groups on board and if you’d like to find out how your business can become a Plastic-free business champion, or if you have already removed single-use plastic, then please contact Weston’s Plastic-free community lead, Debbie Apted, at secretary@westonchamber.org.uk for details.  Follow us too on FaceBook at Cleaner Coastlines: Weston and North Somerset Plastic-free campaign.
